Destiny Sheppard, Staff Reporter

Destiny Sheppard, a senior, is a first-year Journalism student at Warren Hills Regional High School and is excited to be a new addition to The Streak. She is passionate about current events, law, and politics.

Outside of school, Sheppard actively participates in extracurricular activities. She is a captain of the Debate Team. She is also active in Warren Hills’ DECA chapters; last year she was vice president of marketing, and this school year vice president of leadership. Along with being on the Swimming Team, Sheppard is active in Choir, where she did Warren Hills Select Choir for one year and is vice president of her class for the 2021-2022 year. She is also active with the Warren County NAACP Chapter and enjoys volunteering at Washington Township’s local garden.

Outside of school and extracurriculars, Sheppard loves bookstores and plant nurseries. She also loves to spend time listening to all kinds of music, cooking various foods and spending time with her dog Brownie and cat, Milo. After high school, Sheppard plans to start her pre-law journey and major in political science with a minor in Journalism. After college she hopes to attend law school and graduate with her Juris Doctor to become a Civil Rights or Immigration lawyer. Her long-term goal is to open up her own law firm and to ultimately become a Supreme Court justice. Her most important values are understanding and to be aware of what is really happening.
