The Winter Wonderland Carnival transformed Warren Hills High School into a snowy heaven on December 13, 2024, with holiday themed movies, music, snacks, crafts, games and many other activities for everyone in the family.
The carnival was more than just fun—it was a meaningful opportunity to give back to the community. The event held deep personal significance for Priscilla Lucci and Fiorella Piedra, presidents of National Honors Society and Human Rights Club. “We put in a lot of effort to make this happen,” Lucci shared. Lucci and Piedra believed in the positive impact their initiative would have on the families that struggle during the festivities.
The Winter Wonderland Carnival featured 12 Warren Hills clubs, each hosting their own activity. From snowball toss games and crafts, to face painting and snacks, the event offered something for everyone. Despite some challenges, the clubs worked together and successfully organized activities that brought the event to life. “It was incredible to see everything come together,” said Debra Rokosny, advisor of the Human Rights Club.
Records show over 100 attendees and 53 gift donations collected for the Toys for Tots Program, proving the carnival’s impact reached far beyond the school boundaries.
Toys for Tots—the nationwide program dedicated to delivering joy to children of scarce resources—inspired the organizers to make the entire event a charitable effort. “Every child deserves a little holiday magic,” the Toys for Tots website states, a message that resonated deeply with them.
Student leaders and advisors faced delays that allowed them only about three weeks to organize and promote the carnival. “It was very stressful” claimed Emily Kablis, advisor of the National Honors Society.
Many guests and other club members found the event to have a fun concept and be a thoughtful idea, while some believed the carnival could achieve a larger turnout with more timely planning and advertising.
Despite this, the dedication of the clubs and the generosity of the community ensured the event’s success, bringing the community together and spreading joy to the children who needed it the most,
