The Streak

Genesis Martinez, Staff Reporter

Genesis Martinez is a junior Blue Streak at Warren Hills. Throughout her two years at the high school, she has played on the girls’ Lacrosse Team. Besides lacrosse, her favorite hobby is taking care of her nieces and nephew. She lives in the Hackettstown area with her family that consists of nine people. Those nine people, including herself, consist of her mom and dad, her older brother and sister, her brother-in-law, her two nieces, and her baby nephew. She says there is nothing she adores more than her family and friends.

She loves to go on “adventures” like hiking, seeing new places, and joyful car rides while blasting music with her friends. In the future, Martinez sees herself traveling around the globe. Some places she eagerly wants to visit are Greece, Croatia, Bali and Bora Bora. The only place she has ever visited outside the United States is her home country, Honduras. Both of her parents and most of her family originate from the coast of Honduras, making her ethnicity Honduran. Since her parents are from a Spanish-speaking country, her first language is Spanish. She learned English later on and is taking a French class at the high school. She wants to learn more languages in the future as well.
