Attending Classes from the Comforts of Home
COVID-19 has led to dramatic changes in education and school schedules, meaning many students, like Warren Hills Middle School’s Natalie Slovak, attend classes remotely from their own homes. Slovak finds the 2020-2021 school year to be very different from previous years, as she sometimes attends classes while sitting on her bed. Many students use Google Meet full-time to join in classes from home remotely, and even hybrid students go to school physically only two days a week. “Sometimes I have to work in my bed because my desk is cluttered,” Slovak said, “but I don’t usually like to do it because it makes my back hurt and makes me want to take a nap.”
