Junior Maggie Alder (right) purchases her computer matchmaker results from senior and Debate Team captain Chris Casella (left) March 2 as part of an annual Debate Team fundraiser. While purchasing her matchmaker list for $3, Alder said, “I hope my boyfriend is on my list.” Students filled out questionnaires in their English classes by answering questions about their personal preferences. From there, the results were calculated and participating students got to see whom they matched with in the high school. The proceeds from this activity funds the Debate Team’s trip to Harvard Model Congress in the Boston area. “This offsets the costs; otherwise the trip would cost more than $700” per person, said Debate Team advisor Mrs. Penny Giamoni. “Years ago a student told me that her brother bought his results and didn’t really know his number-one match. He finally started hanging out with her and they ended up getting married.” (Photo by Samantha Lewis)
