Elizabeth Nyamweya, Editor
Senior Elizabeth Nyamweya is an editor for The Streak newspaper for the 2021-2022 school year. This is Nyamweya’s second year in Journalism, which is something she is very passionate about. Since she did not take part in Journalism for the 2020-2021 school year, she is very happy she managed to make her way back into the writing game this school year.
Nyamweya’s biggest goal in life is to attend a good college for journalism and to eventually make her way into working as a journalist or an editor for The New York Times. She is also planning on attending The School of New York Times to kick off her career in journalism. Nyamweya plans on dedicating her life to spreading the real, hard truth through her writing and to be a voice for the people who can’t afford to speak up for themselves. She also enjoys traveling and hopes she can travel the world interviewing and interacting with new people.
In her free time Nyamweya loves to write. She has been in Honors English classes all throughout high school and for her senior year she is taking AP Literature. She also enjoys writing for herself in her own time.
Another one of her favorite things to do is to hang out with friends. She loves shopping, eating out with them, and just having a good time. This past summer Nyamweya traveled to Kenya, Africa where she visited her family. “Kenya is my favorite place in the world,” said Nyamweya. “I love the environment, the people, my family, everything about it. I wish I could go more often.”
During this 2021-2022 school year, Nyamweya hopes to build her journalism portfolio even further by writing many more articles for the school newspaper so hopefully colleges will spot her. She is looking forward to participating more in The Streak newspaper.
