Warren Hills Peer put together a Trunk or Treat event at the High School on October 24th. It was open to the community, and well over 100 children attended.
Over twenty cars and many more high school students showed up to put together this event. It was run by Peer and Senior, Ava Snyder was the head coordinator. She planned and organized the entire event.
“I was very stressed, I thought people were going to bail and we weren’t going to have enough cars. It turned out better than I could have ever expected. There was a constant flow of kids the entire time and plenty of cars.” She said
This is the second time that Warren Hills High School has ever held a Trunk or Treat. The only other time it was done, it was three years ago, also run by peer,
The event was a success with lots of little kids coming consistently throughout the night. The weather was perfect for walking around and the wind kept a Halloween vibe in the air.
“It was extremely successful, we had kids lined up to get candy from our car and play our game we had. Overall the kids had a great time.” Said Senior, Nate Luzasky, a participant in the event.
There was also a contest with two categories. The cutest car and the scariest car. Meghan Daniel, a Senior from Peer won the cutest car. The club DECCA won the scariest car of the night.
“It went really well, all the students did a really good job of getting there on time and decorating they’re cars well. I think the community really enjoyed it and a lot of people showed up which was great to see” Senior Paige Volckmann told me.
It was an hour and a half event, and in that short time most cars managed to throw at least four bags of candy.
“It was so much fun seeing all the kids do trunk or treat. Ava did an amazing job organizing it and it had a great turnout. We had music and lots of dancing, it was a great vibe.” Said English teacher Penny Giamoni.
Trick or Treat? More like Trunk or Treat!
