Starting off the 2024-2025 school year Warren Hills FFA immediately came together to begin fundraising.
On Sept. 21, 2024 the FFA gathered at the Festival in the Boro. They provided the event with crafts and knowledge about the animals they brought along. Just the next day there were still projects to be completed.
Warren Hills FFA Alumni put together the 18th annual Car and Tractor Show held on Sept. 22, 2024. Vehicle owners from all over Warren County flood the parking lot of the Tractor Supply.
Student FFA members fundraised for their upcoming National Convention held in Indianapolis in October. By selling breakfast, lunch and snacks they were able to raise over $700.
As well as selling food, the FFA brought along some animals. Children and parents were eager to learn about our skunk, bearded dragon, rabbit and guinea pig. People were also invited to paint a pumpkin to support the Warren Hills FFA chapter.
The Warren Hills FFA’s Jr. Sentinel senior, Abigail Waldron-Barrow organized the food and craft for the event.
“My favorite thing about the event was seeing everything come together and how many people came together to help make the event successful.” Abby said.
In the show there were many different classes people were able to enter including: motorcycles, antique motorcycles, muscle cars, custom trucks, stock trucks, Corvettes, Jeep/ off road, open class, open tractors, garden tractors and semi trucks. First and second place prizes were given to people in each class.
Other upcoming events to raise money for the trip include the ongoing mum sale, the citrus sale and the Mansfield Elementary school Tricky Tray.
In late October the Warren Hills FFA chapter is planning on sending the Horse Evaluation and Floral Culture teams to the National Convention. In order to make the trip accessible to all that are qualified to attend, it is important that fundraising events go well.
This year the FFA is sending sophomores Gavin Fink, Kaylie Perticari and junior Elizabeth Noreen from the Horse Evaluation Team. From the Floral Culture Team they are sending seniors Gracie Bucher, Kathryn Tintle and junior Emma Summit.
Both the Floral Culture and the Horse Evaluations Teams won first place in the state of New Jersey so they are excited to bring their talent to the rest of the world.
At the convention there are many activities and events. The larger ones include the General Sessions, American FFA Degree Ceremony and the FFA concert where Megan Moroney is performing.
Jr. President sophomore, Kaylie Perticar said, “I’m most excited to see my favorite singer Megan Moroney perform with all of my friends.”
