This 2023-2024 school year, Warren Hills Regional High School greeted multiple new teachers, one of them being Mathematics Teacher Todd Solecitto.
Solecitto is a Warren Hills graduate and worked at Warren Hills Regional Middle School for nine years. At the Middle School he taught math and continues to do so here at the High School.
Solecitto’s wife, Jacqueline Solecitto, is the Gifted & Talented teacher at the Middle School.
He attended Moravian College, a private, liberal-arts school that is now called Moravian University. He is currently enrolled at Ball State University in Indiana for his Master’s Degree.
While in college, Solecitto was unsure what he would do with a math degree, because he did not want to be a teacher at the time.
“Math was always my favorite subject growing up,” he said.
After his freshman year of college, he decided to switch his major to business management.
Before becoming a teacher, Solecitto nurtured an interest in finance. He worked as a finance specialist at corporate food giant M&M Mars in Hackettstown for five years before taking on a career in teaching.
Solecitto never realized he wanted to work with children until he started coaching youth basketball. He went back to school to earn a teaching certificate through the state’s alternate route program.
Even though he moved to the High School from the Middle School, Solecitto still coaches the Middle School boys’ basketball team. He expresses pride in the fact that he once beat Warren Hills High School Head Basketball Coach Joseph Bamford in a one-on-one game of basketball.
