The Streak Accepts First Place Award from GSSPA
The Garden State Scholastic Press Association (GSSPA) hosted Fall Press Day in late October at Rutgers University where The Streak staff accepted the first place award for Overall Press Excellence in Division A. Fall Press Day is an annual journalism and yearbook conference to educate and award current high schools and students that dedicated themselves to their school publications. . In addition to an awards ceremony, there were various conferences led by experienced journalists and editors about subjects pertaining to yearbook and journalism. . Several upper-level journalism students went up to accept the award for Warren Hills. “I am so proud of our entire staff and my co advisor, Mr. Oakley. We have done an amazing job these last few years, especially during COVID, when other schools stopped publishing paper copies and just posted their news online,” said Mary Ann McKinney, adviser of The Streak.
