For many people, October means leaf piles, apple picking and pumpkin carving, but for horror fans around Warren County, many count on Corrado’s Farm for serious fright factor.

Corrado’s Farm, located in Hackettstown, has been serving Warren County with frights and chills for more than 20 years. Being a family owned business, the farm makes for excellent memories

If sinister fall horrors spike your adrenaline, Corrado’s offers a Haunted Hayride and a Corn Maze.

While in the past, visitors have raved about Corrado’s Haunted House,  as publicized on their Facebook page, a posting on the website, hayrideofhorrors.com, gives an ominous warning to those seeking a tour:

“Sadly, our undertaker has informed us that there are no vacancies in our haunted house,” the posting reads. “Until further notice we will not be selling tickets to that attraction.”

Still, their Hayride of Horrors is sure to have a seat for all, opening Oct. 1  and running every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights till the 30th.

The hayride is especially spooky as it meanders through the woods, where wicked witches, a cemetery of the walking dead, terrifying clowns, creatures of the night and haunting apparitions linger. Riders are seated on a hay-strewn platform of a tractor-drawn trailer and are towed down dark trails to view illuminated roadside displays of graveyards, car wrecks and rickety shacks.

The hayride is 45 minutes long and riders are served cider and donuts by a witch at the end.

If spine-chilling horrors aren’t quite your thing,  the Corn Maze is a more independent activity– an adventure for you and your company to escape.

Tickets for the Hayride start at $20.00 general admission and $13.00 for the Corn Maze. Children ages 5 and under get in for free. Combo tickets are also available for $45.00, if daring enough to face all terrors in one night.

Although all activities are ‘family-friendly,’ beware that costumed and masked actors startle customers with threats, shouts, screams, jumpscares and simulated weapons.

For those who just wish to enjoy autumn in all its harvest bounty, Corrado’s also offers calm autumn activities, like pumpkin and apple picking, on the weekends.
