Spilling the Beans with a Community Blend

Washington area resident Carly Moos helps herself to a warm cup of coffee at the new café in Washington called Community Blend, which opened to the public in early February. Community Blend, 384 Route 57 West in Washington, is a ”relaxed café to find physical and spiritual refreshment,” according to Executive Director Jewell Utt. Community Blend is a faith-based, non-profit organization created as a gathering place for the community. People can grab a cup of coffee or tea, sit and work, gather with friends or just relax quietly. Several events have been scheduled to help welcome visitors, such as a Grand Opening set for May 7 with featured performer Chiz Rider, who specializes in trumpet performance. There are also different Bible study opportunities for anyone who may choose to join one. Community Blend is open Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., as well as Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. “I love coming to Community Blend,” Moos said. “It’s a nice place where I can come and do my work without any distractions, and I always feel welcomed by everyone here.” (Photo by Abigail Lamour)
