Summit Climbs Leader Board in Field Hockey Career
Field Hockey captain Maddie Summitt carries the ball up the field in a Sept. 11 field hockey game at Hillsborough High School, which the Blue Streaks won 2-0. During this season, Summitt has acquired 41 total goals and is tied for 12th place in Warren Hills school history. That fact, combined with all of her career assists, brings her to a total 103 points, passing the milestone of 100 points on Sept. 25 in a close 5-4 victory over Ridge High School. Summitt is the 17th player at Warren Hills to reach this milestone. “It was really cool,” Summit said of her 100-point accomplishment. She stars for a Warren Hills field hockey team that had posted a record of 12 wins, 4 losses and 1 tie by Oct. 20, with still a few games to go. Summitt began accumulating goals and assists as a varsity starter during her freshman year, when she recorded five goals. She said that she is committed to playing Division One field hockey in college, with plans to play at Ball State University in the 2022-2023 season.
