The Warren Hills Cheerleading Team hosted their annual cheerleading competition in early November to raise money for their national competition at Disney World in February. The competition featured about 40 performances throughout the day, ranging from youth recreational to high school teams, and game day routines to traditional competitive routines. Brooke Yencha, a senior and four-year cheerleader, said “The day was chaotic and stressful, at some points of the day, but it was also a good bonding experience for the girls on the team.” Pictured above are the second and third place trophies and the grand champion banner which given to the highest scoring team of that session. The first team to take home a grand champion banner was Hunterdon Central High School for their traditional routines. The second banner was awarded to the Hunterdon Central Jr. Red Devils for their game day routine. Also laying on one of the trophies is the notorious foam finger that is well known in the cheerleading community. The competition was a successful day for both the teams competing and raising money for the Warren Hills Cheer Team. (Photo courtesy of Josh DeVoe).
