Madison Phillips is a senior at Warren Hills Regional High School. Writing has been an interest of hers since the day she could pick up a pencil or pen and form a sentence with it. She says that she started with an interest of learning how to express feelings and thoughts on a piece of paper, and now she expresses interest in writing things like poetry. Throughout her years of high school she did not see the opportunity to expand her knowledge on writing until she had a conversation about Journalism with English Teacher Andy Oakley last year in her College Preparatory English III class.

Phillips considers herself a good student who tries her best with all of the things she does. After high school she plans to go to beauty school in Florida for cosmetology. Writing, makeup, hair, nails, skin care, etc. have all been passions for her.

She plans to extend her love for writing beyond high school, and she hopes to one day publish her own poetry book. She says that poetry books have been an outlet for her to see that the way she feels and thinks are normal, and that she is not alone.
